Brief: Many children in the West Indies experience sexual abuse, and those who do often face severe emotional and physical trauma. These children require specialized support and resources to help them heal and recover from their experiences. Instructors will also need an on-hand resource to implement the program effectively.

The Process

This 8-session course, developed in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts, helps children in the West Indies recognize their emotions, build self-awareness, and practice leadership through gentle poses, mindfulness, and meditation.

Drawing on my background in psychology, I began by assessing the children's needs, considering their age, developmental stage, and cultural context. Based on this, I set clear learning goals and developed measurable lesson objectives.

I created engaging activities within a tech-friendly manual, allowing instructors to personalize the program and track student progress. Feedback from each session is used to refine the approach, supporting the children's growth and healing journey.

Needs Assessment
